Duh Kijiji is for everyone

We'll I've been back now for about 3 weeks or so. During which time I've been enjoying some fine Man / Sask chapter posts. Especially for those links to Kijiji that folks have been writing about.

During that time it never dawned on me that Kijiji was accross Canada I thought it was a local thing. Only today did I realize it was in Ontario and everywhere else. I guess I'm so used to you guys posting up rides from the local auctions out there ... I just figured this Kijiji thing was more of the same.

We'll I've been on the darn site for about 4 hours this afternoon, so I guess this is a belated thank you for introducing me to kijiji.

Check out this ride that is about 10 minutes from my house. I'm the Ford truck king in these parts and I don;t even know this guy. As soon as the weather breaks he's getting a visit.

Enjoy

Best I can tell Kijiji is run by ebay and is through out the US as well (have not looked into this yet), something like craigs list.

I think Ebay only bought a small portion. Kijiji has been around for a few years now, just the last few years it has gotten very popular, because it helps provide a selling service to your local area. Where ebay can be anywhere and costs of buying and shipping can add up. Like buying something from Englad, where their pound is worth 5 x's our dollar.

As long as it remains free I'll support them.
I have an ebay account as well but the cost to seller can get high at times.
We had a local rag out here called isell that got bought up by a group called "buy sell". I'm pretty sure buy sell is affiliated with auto trader cause there fees are very similar. Anyhow all of a sudden the free aspects of isell are going away and they are restriction on sellers big time.

Free is good bring on kijiji for now anyways

Ive checked out the buysell.com website from time to time. I always thought it was free, but never really noticed.

Kijiji around sask here rocks. Craigslist is the king of bc. So far i havent found a good one for alberta, people kinda use both there.

Buysell bought Isell who originally bought the Tri-Ad. Have you ever used the Tri-Ad Jeff? Used to be the best place to find stuff. I bought 79 from an ad in the Tri-Ad just over 10 years ago.

Tri-ad was in Southern Ontario if I remember right. It was an awesome newspaper for scrounging. It actually was set up like a newspaper rather than a magazine. Came out every 2 weeks and was 3 full sections. Took you 2 weeks to read it all...loved it. They were bought out by Isell as Chad states. I liked Isell as well. They took over kept the website easy to use didn;t punish the seller. Now the big fish buysell gobbles them up and I start getting restriction notices. I don't need the headache. I posted 5 things once, automotive related obviously then they block my account and want me to pay business rates. They want to charge me 40$ to sell a 500$ truck. No thanks.... I'll adapt and so will the market.
Kijiji for now

Since I started using Kijiji, I gotten rid of a lot of things that were sitting around here. Still somethings are still sitting. I put a gas powered compressor on there last Thursday and by Sat. it was sold. It was just sitting taking space in my shop.
I still got a freezer to sell and some fureboxes for wood.
