The steering wheels were the same 3 spoke type offered from 1967/70. The two spoke steering wheel with a vinyl horn pad were used from 1971 thru 1977.
The 1975/77 F100/350's steering wheel is slightly different than 1971/77, when cruise control is present.
D1TZ-1004810-A .. Ash Tray ~ Fits: 1968/72 F100/750.
Are you refering to the horn ring? There's no chrome insert in the steering wheel. The horn ring has been reproduced, but you need an original to get some of the parts from it, because the repo's don't come with the emblem, plastic horn ring retainer, rubber insulator or backing plate. The retainer and insulator are also repro'd.

Yes, I meant the horn ring. My truck has an aftermarket racing type steering wheel and the horn works on it now but I don't know what is inside it for guts. I need the 3 spoke wheel and an ashtray, not fussy on color because the truck is a custom color now anyway so I have to do a paint match and paint it.

Black was only used in Regular Cabs. Black was also used for Custom Cabs along with Blue, Green, Red and Beige.
The Falcons and Comets had the same colors and also had a White steering wheel.
The same horn ring is also used for all these vehicles, but...Ford painted the chrome horn ring a flat argent circa 1969, to cut down on glare.
I said 1967/70 originally because this is the forum for these models.
btw: That large 3 spoke wheel is a PITA if you are a large person, which is prolly the reason why many have been replaced today by something smaller.
At 6-5, 335 lbs...fitting behind that wheel for me today is difficult...it wasn't an issue in 1965, but that was 43 years and 75 lbs. ago, and "Arthur" hadn't made his appearance yet.

Ah yes.....an important consideration. The only things to finish her off in side is this steering wheel, the ash tray which I have a lead one now and trying to get that door panel off....I have another thread on that one....having a rough go there. I have the shop manual but it is a bit vague...probably because this is a simple thing I just don't know how to do.
