Well, it's saturday, the day before i turn 18, it's sunny, AND it's officialy the first day of spring. what am i doing today? hmmmmmm
first: usual stuff to get ready.
then: i'm going to install a 4 channel amp into my aero for my door speakers and 6x9's. i might leave my hatch speakers running off the stock preamps from my deck, not sure yet. we will see.
after that, i'm going to install my flex pip so i may gain back my lost power due to a PITA exhaust leak.
then go cruise. lol
i'll post up results of the amp hook up when i'm done.
any one else care to ad to this?

I was your age in August of 1983. Been a long time but I remember it well. Enjoy the hell out of yourself, but do NOT go overboard if you know what I mean? A few weeks before my 18th I was horribly injured in a bad car crash and my 17 year old buddy sitting next to me was killed (sitting in the back of a PU truck when it flipped over and rolled on top of us). I remember I lost a lot of friends in that timeframe, it's actually a dangerous time to live through from my experience. Almost like how old people lose all their friends from them dying off from sickness and old age. A similar sort of thing happens for the young, except it comes in the form of vehicular trauma, drug and alcohol abuse and I suppose nowadays war to some extent. I knew a guy that shot himself when he was 17 he was so upset when his gfriend left him. Another rolled his car coming home from a party (22 yo) and was ejected out of the car. He was basically ok, but broke his leg rupturing his femoral artery and he bled to death on the side of the road. Another guy crashed his motorcycle by overshooting a curve (18 yo). Another rolled his VW beetle and died from internal injuries (17 yo). A girl I knew was run over and killed crossing the street when she was drunk (15 yo). Another guy was shot in the face during a drug deal gone bad (24 yo). Another guy (18 yo) accidentally shot himself through the arm and shoulder at a party (drunk and high) mishandling a 22 rifle (he lived though). My best friend woke me up in the middle of the night (19 yo) blubbering on and on about something. I looked out my window and there he was bigger n' hell with a smashed face, his gumline pushed up so you could see his skull and jawbone. He had fallen asleep at the wheel coming home from a party (a kegger) and hit a tree (and just barely dodged some concrete statues in the back of some guys yard) - his mouth was basically impaled on his steering wheel. He lived though, one of the lucky ones.
Now as a middle aged dude, I look back in wonder at how I survived it all. I lived through a lot of close calls doing stupid stuff with cars and motorcycles, that just by luck and the skin of my chinny chinny chin I escaped serious injury and death - multiple times. (especially on motorcycles and in my 6 pack roadrunner) That age bracket is a time of dangerous living from my experience!
Anyway, not trying to bum you out when you should be very excited to be at this point in your life. And maybe you're a lot smarter than me and don't take stupid chances like I did when I was your age. But for what it's worth, life really is short. Not only is it short, it can be cut even shorter at the blink of an eye. And it ain't always the other guy either. So enjoy yourself on your 18th and live life to it's fullest - but be sure to take care to take care.
Happy b-day dude!

thank you so much for the words of wisdom. fortunatly for me... i don't drink, do drugs, or smoke anything (does secondhand smoke count?). i dont speed, accept to pass (which is rare) and i don't race pplz i care more about looks and how my system sounds than how fast my car goes, and am all about NOT redlining first gear and getting half way through second before slamming on my brakes to start all over again as soon as the light turns green. in september, i lost a friend of mine when he was testing out a new to him 3 wheeler atv (there's a reason why those things are ILLEGAL now) on some land his family owned in eastern oregon. best to my knowledge of what happened is that he flipped the thing ontop of him on accident, and it crushed him on the spot. sophmore year some kid named barry something killed him self due to depression of his dad being wheel chair ridden and his mom dieing. i have seen several girls working now dead end jobs that i went to school w in middle school that now don't go to school because they got pregnant and now have kid(s) to support. i thought they moved away. it's kind of a reality check when you walk into taco bell and see the chick behind the counter working there knowing that she dropped out after she got prego....

ugh so i got that amp installed earlyer tonight, and i ran out of time before work, so i literaly threw everything together to get my fronts working, and left. it sounded different, but cleaner, and didn't distort almost at all untill like 37 out of 40, and thats w this amp marked at half way. well 4.5 hours later i get home and start to clean up all the wire and run new ones to the 6x9s. get it all done around 3 am... and put it all to gether nicely, turn the deck on and hear hissssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss sss coming from my doors and my 6x9's, but not my hatch speakers (because at that moment they were still hooked up through the decks preamps. so i'm like great. i go about trying to figure it out... i change the ground location, jiggle wires, un plug both the rca's for the front, the rear and both at the same time, un hook the wires for the front channel, still hissing, un hook the wires for the rear STILL hissing.... so now i'm crazy tired, and kinda frustrated. blah. perhaps if i were normal i'd just live w the hissing, because i can't hear it after i turn things up volume wise, but i don't always like LOUD music...
any ideas?
i have no idea on the brand of amp, mosfet or not, or the power ratings for it... it was all lost one a diff. owner had the shell powder coated. i was told that it goes up to like 500 watts or something? idk. makes my speakers sound good tho, and that's what matters to me.
