Driving in tow/haul mode

I saw a proceedure on here to have the tow/haul mode effective from the time you start up your truck, or perhaps it was always on. I am wondering what you guys and gals think of driving in tow/haul mode all of the time. I have noticed not a lot of mileage difference driving in the tow haul mode even empty. I personally like the response it has especially on hills or when u come up behind some one and not having to brake as much, again empty or with a load on. What are your thoughts do you like the tow/haul mode all the time and do you see a mileage difference?

Interesting, but I would think that you would see a mileage drop since it will be receiving higher and taking longer to shift. I certainly used to used tow/haul in town just for the improved response, but since I got my SCT there has been no need.

I've never measured it but logic would seem to dictate that all else being equal, tow-haul uses more fuel per mile since the engine is running at a higher average rpm.

Sometimes I'll turn tow-haul on when not towing just to use the engine brake. Otherwise, I just use it when I tow or haul.

That's precisely what I was trying to say until a typo got in there and muddled things up. I meant to say the the engine is revving higher longer consuming more fuel. Thanks for clarifying moebdick.

See mine does not have the higher revs all the time just on hills when it is holding it back, or a little bit around town. Goin down the road the overdrive works as normal and I check my mileage manually using a calculater on miles driven and gallon's used. It could be the tune i have in it or the way i have my bully dog set up for shifting?
