Are dealer lifetime warrenties worth-it?

I will pick up my new truck in a few weeks. The dealer (as all dealers do) will try and squeeze those remaining dollars out of me before letting me drive away.

Are these dealer extra's worth it?

Undercoating + Paint Sealant + Fabric protection = $1095

Lifetime warrenties with all; can i really expect it to be honored?
The sales pitch makes a compelling argument, what is reality?

Read the requirements closely. Mine says that I have to apply their sealant products every six months. That's the equivalent of paying $1095 for a lifetime of wax, but you supply the elbow grease to put it on. I also get a reminder from the dealer every six months that it is time for the application and would I like to bring it in and let them do it for the small fee of $199.

And I'm still not sure what I get for the money and effort. I suppose if I wanted to whine about water spots not coming out, I could, but that hasn't been a problem. I am satisfied with the way the product looks and it stays shiney for the full six month period.

Whose lifetime? Yours? The truck's? The Dealers?

Save your cash and forget all those add-ons.

I don't get muddy, don't get dusty, don't pull trailers, but do play in the snow and ice.
