Turn signal brake light woes

Turn signal brake light woes
Still working to figure out what the heck is going on with my 68 F600 regarding no brake lights and no turn signals. I removed a crappy brake controler and added a new one. Thats when I lost turn signals and then the left brake light, then the right one quit. I read a bunch of posts from others that had the same problems, my truck is no exception, poorly added on wiring, wires goin gnowhere and insulation rubbed thourgh in places. I am tracing what I can, but need a schematic. I see that "Ken" has wiring manuals for a 68 F100-750. I tried the "contact seller" link but get a screen that says "Posts 9" I checked through the electrical forum and have not found the info I need. Where or how can I find a wiring schematic for a 68 F600?
I do know the following.................
1.) I have no power to the TS flasher. Someone added a horn switch and tapped into the flasher power wire. When I jumper power to the flasher I have turn signals. This means the flasher is good and the turn signal switch under the steering wheel is good ................correct?
2.) I have no power to the brake switch on the brake pedal. The switch is mounted to the pedal with a bolt going through it and the pedal itself. This bolt has an eccentric on it and wornout looking plastic bushing. The switch and bushing look shot. I have not checked the switch for function, but the spade termianls are loose. If I can't find a replacment I will convert to a plunger type switch.
3.) I have poorly installed trailer hitch wiring. Which I am removing crimp on connectors from and soldering
4.) I have some rust on the fuse box connnections which I am cleaning up. Should'nt all fuse circuts show power when the key is on?
Where through the fuse box does power come from to power the turn signals?
I am thinking that I jiggled some connection when I removed and installed the brake controller that supplies power to the turn signal flasher and brake lights.
What is the path of power from the fuse box to the turn signal switch to the brake light switch and the turn signal flasher?
I have running lights but no turn or brake lights.
I am checking for shorts and poor connections, but really need a schematic. The power wire to the flasher is brown, it goes into a bundle of wires and then from there? My next step is to verify the wires going down the column to are good.
Any suggestions here guys, I need this thing up and on the road. I sold a smaller truck that was working perfect which my wife keeps reminding me of.
I ain't gonna give up till I get it.................

I wonder if your brake light switch is the same as my '67 F100? It's part of the master cylinder arm and it's real finicky and I must keep it lubed up to function properly. My '69 has the simple plunger design that is pretty carefree. I've looked out the window to see the brake lights on during the night . Go out and give the pedal kick and they go out. Real poor design.
Wish I knew a place to get a wiring diagram.
Yes, sounds like your TS is working properly, just need to get a good power wire to it.

It would'nt take much for me to fab a mount for a plunger type mount for the brake light switch. Weird design with what is there now. I can't tell how it is suppposed to work? Also I noticed that the spring from the brake pedal to a mount below the column was missing. I addded one and now my brake pedal sits much higher. I am going to take to original brake switch to NAPA to see if I can find a replacement. I am at loss with no Schematic. If I could only tell where power from the fuse box is and where it goes, to power the brake and turn signals.

I had similar problems. first one brake light went out, then both and then it got so screwy after that that I can't even remember what all it did. after messing with all my wiring I figured out it was the turn signal cancel switch. the brake lights and flashers and all run through the turn signal cancel switch in the column. so don't forget to check that.
oh and now that I think about it I had another column a while back when I hit the brakes the brake lights came on as well as both front turn signal lights. turns out my turn signal cancel switch was very dirty and full of old grease.

I am goin gthrough everything in my truck, but I am at a loss as to finding a wiring schematic. I NEED to knwo where the power to the turnsignal switch is coming from. Which fused circut etc. I have had no luck finding any wiring info. Really hard to trace wires that are wrapped up inside of a bundle. My turn signal switch is working I just have no power to the brake switch or the turn signal flasher.
Does the power first go to the turn signal switch then the brake switch then flasher ? I need a schematic.................

He has 100's of wiring schematics.
He posts (mostly) in the 1973/79 forum and is online now.
You prolly can't p/m him yet, because you don't have enough posts, so ask the question again in that forum.

You should have a Ford Truck shop manual: faxonautolit.com is one place to look for originals.
