My dad always told me it was because he was always trading it in or selling it or finding a good deal on a different one, he had a ton of old white pickups is what my dad used to tell me when i was a kid

Emergency.Roy Desoto drove a dentside with a camper on it.Also some of the Ambulaces were F350 Dentsides and they said "Mayfair Ambulance "on them.
There was a movie years ago about a Hooker and her Pimps name was Ramrod,he drove a sweet Lifted Black 79 Freewheelin Bronco.

In the newer HULK movie, as Dr. Banner he has a 73-79 reg cab long bed for a short time, at which point he abandons it at a military checkpoint on a highway.

Also, I can't believe most people have FORGOT the MOST IMPORTANT 73-79 EVER!!!!

BIGFOOT 4x4x4!!! Appeared in, Road House, Police Academy 2, and Cannonball Run 2(driven by by Mr. Bob Chandler himself)

Also, the "lil mule" in Romancing the Stone is a 80s Bronco with the camper off, not a truck.

And Dr. Dirt, Smokey and the Bandit was filmed in 77, not 79.

Oh, not a movie ethier, but there was a cartoon in the 80s that had bigfoot in it as well as other monster trucks, it was called BigFoot and the Muscle Machines. And it was the 73-79 model of bigfoot in it. Oh, my Favorite movie, YES its my favorite, "Maximum Overdrive" by Stephen King, it has a 73-79 in it on the bridge scene, it has a another truck fall on it, crushing in the hood when the bridge goes up with cars still on it.

That was all the same truck, he gradually modified it to how it finally appeared. It started life as a 74 F-250 Ranger, he then added the 79 grille to it as he put larger axles, tires, brakes, engine, and everything else he needed to keep it from breaking.

And I can't believe you forgot the most important Bigfoot movie, the one that started the whole monster truck craze-"Take This Job and Shove It" with Robert Hays. That also was the Johnny Paycheck song that went with the movie.
