how complicated is it to put a 7.3 in a 79? anyone have pics or ideas?

impossible, no way it could ever be done.....



It's only as hard as your skills and tools make it. If you have a carport and a tub of hand tools, then yeah it might be a # 10 on the scale. If you have a full shop with lift, plasma cutter, welder, and 100,000 $ worth of tooling, then it's gonna be alot easier.

 

It helps to have a donor truck right there. I am doing this exact swap over the summer. I have been collecting parts for some time. I have a 1999 F-250 with the powerstroke, so it will make the swap much easier.

A friend of mine has a 94.5 PSD 5/spd in his 77, he incorporated the factory dash into his 77 so all that stuff worked, and used a 14 bolt rear, and somehow made the speedo work.
