his normal mileage as stated was 14 mpg mixed road and around town. this was straight to the parkway and cruising at 70--75 with an auto and 3.73's. i admit it seems odd, and if i didnt know the source i prolly wouldnt believe it.

well mixed driving and straight interstate driving can make a big differance in economy compaired to mixed driving by its self wich probably accounts for the majority of the fuel millage gain

most places that sell offroad its the same exact thing as onroad just with red die and no road tax. but some places you can get 500ppm sulfer for offroad fuel, it is not to be unexpected to get the same millage that you got before the swich to ulsd on offroad, but not higher

Tim, you might want to look into this before you add lucus to your tank.

Nope, It was falling off a cliff... Tim... How did you do a mileage calculation and get 27??? Did you fill, run it down, refill and divide by miles?? If your getting 27 I want some of that magic fuel!!!

Are you guys talkin about adding 2-stroke to regular diesel or to dyed? If it's adding milage to your regular road fuel, what's the thinking on how much to add?

I think I'll steer clear of the dyed in my tank, and the receiving end of a hefty fine, but I've got a 2-stroke outboard and every winter I have a few quarts leftover.

Hey, can I burn that in my furnace, too?

Yes ashless 2 stroke oil added to the fuel tanks. I haven't used it enough to log the difference in mileage but it has been shown in one study to add good lubrication.

Would you happen to have a link to that study?

I have this one that lists 2-cycle oil.
