2009 F-150 at the Tulsa Auto Show

I went to the auto show yesterday to checkout the new F-150 and I must say that the press release photos doesn't do the truck justice. They had a dark gray FX4 supercrew and it was a beauty.I was lucky enough to talk to a Ford spokesman about the mysterious powertrain numbers and he told me that the 5.4 would make between 315-325 hp and over 400 ft lbs of torque. He also mentioned that Ford will soon shut the competition up and I asked him if he was talking about the upcoming boss motor and he just grinned at me. I also took a bunch of photos so I will paste them below for your viewing pleasure.

Nice job on the pics and thanks! You are correct, press release pics just don't get it. That whole truck inside and out is a class act, but those headlights.....

Hmmm it looks to me the bed is no longer 22" deep...maybe 20"
I liked the deeper bed.
Also does the 09 S-crew 6.50 have a longer wheel base and over length now that the front doors/cab is longer?

You guys are cute .........that is ONE cam, ONE chain driven sprocket.....

In other words; a SINGLE OVERHEAD CAM. (SOHC)

Yeah I hope there is a weird reflection going on with that tailgate. It looks like it has stripes or something. Very ugly.

exaclty they have 3 lobes on 1 cam so there would not be another cam with 1 lobe

The drive train set up off to the side looks huge. Anyone know what that combo weighs?

That's just a weird way of rationalizing it, IMO........if it had 5 valve heads, the intake cam certainly could have 3 lobes.

The simple answer is the picture shows one cam.

But I am splitting hairs, you obviously know you're looking at a cam in that picture......not so sure SDU knows what he's looking at.

I agree. The simplest way to tell if an engine is DOHC cam is if it has two camshafts in the head.
