Rear Spring Removal? What the heck?

Ok guys what is the trick to removing the pins holding the rear springs to the hangers?

There is a bolt that crosses them with a slot to hold them in. I can get the bolt out but the large pins can't be punched thru they only go in/out in one direction. After fifty years in there they are not anxious to come out the same way they went in.

Penetrating oil - lots of it.

Jsck up the frame some to take weight off the pin. You've got ridges worn into the pin that will hang up on every piece on the way out. Adjust height and wiggle the parts as you hammer them out.

Doh, I feel like an idiot, there are holes the frame to pound them out. Sometimes you gotta get farther under the truck

Difference between a beginner and someone with experience is............

............the beginner hasn't made every mistake there is to make, YET, while the experienced trucker has made most of them!
