6 inch lift 38 inch tires

I have a 2002 Ford Excursion with a 6 inch Superlift and 35" BFG AT's on 17x10" wheels. I have a lot of room between the tire and fender and I'm sure I could fit 37" tires but I would love to squeeze a set of Pro-comp 38.5x14.50 XAT's. The spot I worry about is the bottom of the front bumper, I wonder if I could space this out to get hte clearance. Just curious if by some chance somebody is running 38" tires with a 6 inch lift.

Now mind you, i dont kno what lift height and tire size these trucks have.
These first couple examples are just to show u what you can do if u cut stuff and have the right spacin on ur rims.

Examples:

Heres some pics of somthing that is more along the line of what your doin:

Any of these setups are possible with alot of cutting of the bumper, the lower valance and the correct amount of backspacin in ur rims.

Hope this helps

In the meantime switch back to stock tires

Food for thought ....... bought a 2005 Limited. Has a 6 inch lift with 37x22x13.50 Kumho Road Venture tires....... they look feel and look aggressive..... love them.......but TWO things you should consider A] full lock turn to turn?....these tires rub on the leafs. B] Rack & Pinion gears to a match the stock gear ratio?.... you will lose in the power band performance rpm and enconomy.
If putting back the 37s than 4.30 or 4.56 gears are needed.....I am still researching the lift companies in what they recommend in tire size for their 6" lifts.
Also check out amp power steps for the King.........good luck.....

Do you get tire rub with the 35s?

I have a 02 excusion with 8" lift and 38" tires. They rub a bit if the suspension is cycled while steering. I don't think a 6" lift would be enough without some real trimming.

8" Skyjacker lift with 38" x 15.5 x 20 Parnelli Jones dirt Grips. you see in this pic how close they come to the bumper.

Where did you find the pic of the black one? I love the look of the wheel wells being filled by tire. I would love to do something similar without more lift. Was this from a website? Give me something...
