1997 Powerstroke Idle Problem

When I Start The Truck It Will Chug. Unless I Rev It Up It Will Continue To Chug And Barely Run. Once I Rev It Up The Idle Will Smooth Out And It Will Run Fine. Any Ideas?

I have the same problem with my 95 F-350, I tried oil changes with Rotella 15/40 it helps but the problem is still there........... i am thinking low fuel pressure thats next on my check list........... How is your idle, high or low? My idle is low at 550 and a slight increse in idle will make the chugging noise go away until the idle drops.........

Is your truck an automatic? If so try starting it in neutral and see what happens, also a proper oil level must be maintained due to the operation of the injection system which is dependant on high pressure motor oil.
