i just found this... i think you inspired my next project, it is so neat. i just love your truck.
one question i have is, did you measure an old jeep to see if that rear would work in the front? i can get a good running mid 70's cj7 for 450.00 and that has good rears, t-case and a solid running amc 6-cylinder in it.. i think it would fit the bill for a parts rig, but i'm just ponderin idea's here..

I've been tossing the 4x4 idea around myself, as I have more than enough 4x4 parts laying around. I'm working out the details currently. I would use my other F1 frame, if it wasn't so rusted.

huh, id have to look more into it.. i was thinking of using the front rear from the jeep and using the amc 6-cylinder, tranny and t-case and using a ford rear rear.. i was also thinking the jeep cj-7 steering box would be nice to add on with a custom steering shaft and power steering.
but i dont know, the bronco front rear worked great in you aplication but i would want to avoid cutting the endes off the rear and swaping on gm ends becouse i've never modified a rear before other than changing perches.

I haven't posted in a while..... figured I would.
I am now just shy of the 50,000 mile mark on the truck. I finally had a break....the clutch hub busted in the limited slip and my rear started acting like an open diff.... I pulled it apart put a new hub in it and new clutches and all is good again.
the winters have been a little rough on the truck and I need to do some metal repair in the future and want to re-paint it before next winter (the same paint scheme).
I finally got around to putting all 1950's rims on it to give it a more authentic look.
I really would like to find a repairable bed that I can work on and get ready to just swap over on a weeknight since I use this truck EVERY weekend to haul my band equipment to shows.. I guess if worse comes to worse I can just swap the canopy over to the "sleeper" for a week or 2......so if anyone knows of a repairable 48-50 bed box in my price range (cheap) let me know!!!!
laitly I have been busy restoring other peoples cars for $$ but I did pick up parts and a title for a 1931 ford model a pickup...so I am going build one of those next, concurrently with my 1930 hot rod coupe.

Well I ended up building a nice bed for my black truck. I still need to find a nicer tailgate for it or buy a new one before I paint it.. I plan on painting it gloss black next summer if time permits.
And then used the old bed of the black truck with some additional patching to build a better bed for the green truck. I also changed out the hood with a less rusty one, replaced the canvas and repaired a few other odds and ends on the green truck before winter.
I got some more done on my other projects too and got started on my NEXT ford truck.

WOW, what a great truck! love the od green and flat black. i have read the thread twice and am still trying to figure out what all the parts are. someone tell me if i am right or wrong. 48-50 cab, 48-50 box, 51-52 front clip and hood? Plus, i wanted to get this back on page one so more people could find it. i am seriously thinking about cutting the frame on the f2 MH and running the bed off the pos 48. the frame on the duece has already been broken and welded back together so whats the harm. i'm gonna run the ndt gravedigger tires to. the biggest 16in. coker sells. man i bet i would get some hate mail for that. it would look wicked though, a darkside 52 MH shortbox with a 254 flathead 6.
