I got tired of the highway gears so I bought a new set of 4.56's at carlise this fall and picked up a limited slip for the front.

Yesterday I got it all buttoned back up and today I rebuilt my rear leaf packs... I had a few broke leafs.

It HAS a lot more traction now that it has tight L/S in the front and rear and the gears help it out a LOT.

I couldn't go anything too aggressive with it since I had my daughter with me and were wheeling alone....

I re-calibrated the speedo and am really happy with the gears BUT I need a new rear drive-shaft since mine is REALLY wore at the splines and I get vibrations over 55....I guess before I never spun the driveshaft as fast as it turns now.

Good ta hear from ya again on this truck. I was wondering if ya had sold her or what was happening with it. Most trucks on here come and go and don't get my attention like this one has. I just wish my body could handle one like it. I would build one out of a Monkey Face in a heart beat. But now I am shopping for a soft ridding Lincoln or something that can handle the dirt roads here for another 10 years or so. I got plenty of trucks for the other stuff. Just looking for a Town Car for now. But I sure love what ya have done with this one. Makes me think of Abby if he ever gets the front drive axle under her he has talked about.

I just keep on running it.... it has almost has 70,000 miles on it since I built it a few years ago.

I have been wanting to re-gear it for a while and finally just made time to get it done. I also went though everything and replaced all the worn bearings and u-joints and whatnot.

I got the new shaft from simkos today and got it on (had to change the yoke on the t-case also). Now it works out great.... no vibs at all and with the 4.56 gears and the little 200 I can now get the truck to over 85 MPH......thought it is a little scarey running it at those speeds!!!

That truck is extremely cool, nice job! Just for thought, since it looks like a military vehicle (at least to me) I photoshopped a couple of military stars and stencilled copy onto the photo you had posted. I'd go this route but I don't own it. Just throwing it out there in case you ever wondered how it would look. Again, nice job on your truck.

Thanks for the photoshop, I pondered going that route with the truck and it looks good that way BUT I am already known the the eccentric old car and old military gun guy

I don't want to come across as a total military nut with my daily driver.

This truck and the dually 4x4 on Pirate are why mine is going 4x4!~! Looks awesome and lots of fun. I love snow wheeling, I take the Rubicon and the 4-runner out in it every chance I get!
