I know your in a hurry, but if you can wait or find someone on Ebay that would overnight a chipped key to you, you'd be better off. The dealership is going to charge you 4 or 5 times what you could get on on ebay for. Unfortunately, I'm not sure exactly what they'd charge you though. there are always some on Ebay. and you can find the procedure for "setting" the chipped key on here. Good luck!!
and welcome aboard...sorry it's under such cruddy circumstances!

Also be aware some vehicles need 2 keys to be programed when you have none rather than just one key. I would suggest getting two anyway and when you get the time/money have a third chipped key cut for you, once you have two that will allow the truck to start you can program a third or forth yourself saving the programming charge.
Good luck

You do, however, require the services of either a dealer or a well-equipped locksmith to reset and reprogram the anti-theft system and to produce at least two replacement keys.
With two valid PATS keys, you can then program additional cut PATS keys into the system using the procedure in the owner's manual.

I purchased my 2002 F150 used and received only one key. I needed another. I knew that you can program 8 additional spare keys but I didn't know that you must have two valid keys to create a spare. I took it to the Ford Dealer by driving my 2008 F150 and they told me that they needed the 2002 because they would have to reprogram the vehicle. Anyway, to answer your question, the cost was $75 for a reprogram, and the keys were $25.00. I purchased 2 additional keys so that I will always have two spares so that I can make may own.

You can only program additional keys at home without a locksmith or dealer if you have 2 working PATS keys.
I had 2 working keys and bought a blank on Epay for $15, then had Hope Depot cut it. They didn't charge me because they could not guarantee that it would work. Well it worked fine and I programmed it.
So if you have 2 good PATS keys, get a third and save a bunch of money!!
