I know your in a hurry, but if you can wait or find someone on Ebay that would overnight a chipped key to you, you'd be better off. The dealership is going to charge you 4 or 5 times what you could get on on ebay for. Unfortunately, I'm not sure exactly what they'd charge you though. there are always some on Ebay. and you can find the procedure for "setting" the chipped key on here. Good luck!!

and welcome aboard...sorry it's under such cruddy circumstances!

A good lock shop should have them for far less than a dealer but I am not sure if they can flash them without any old keys.

Do you have a non chipped key so they can match the cuts or the key code for your truck, it would make the job much easier. If you have no key at all the key code will be needed (will be in the sales folder at the original selling dealer) or a locksmith will be needed to cut a key to match the existing tumbler(s). Most dealers Ive seen and or worked at seem to get between $25 and $35 dollars for the key itself but the key(s) will also need to be programed to your truck or it still won't start, that would also need to be paid for $50? Don't know what a locksmith would charge and don't know if they would have the equipment to program the key(s) for you.
Also be aware some vehicles need 2 keys to be programed when you have none rather than just one key. I would suggest getting two anyway and when you get the time/money have a third chipped key cut for you, once you have two that will allow the truck to start you can program a third or forth yourself saving the programming charge.
Good luck

My local dealer (GA) wanted $65 for the chipped key and programing altogether, they also needed to see proof of ownership for the vehicle.

Excellent point, I forgot to mention that proof of ownership is required by Ford if he takes it to a dealer.

Then you'd better get off the internet and get on the phone.

A good locksmith will be able to set you up, but, while less than a tow to a dealership, it won't be cheap.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. I was under the impression that if all keys are lost, you have to replace the pats (instrument cluster). is this correct or not correct?

It is NOT correct.

You do, however, require the services of either a dealer or a well-equipped locksmith to reset and reprogram the anti-theft system and to produce at least two replacement keys.

With two valid PATS keys, you can then program additional cut PATS keys into the system using the procedure in the owner's manual.

I purchased my 2002 F150 used and received only one key. I needed another. I knew that you can program 8 additional spare keys but I didn't know that you must have two valid keys to create a spare. I took it to the Ford Dealer by driving my 2008 F150 and they told me that they needed the 2002 because they would have to reprogram the vehicle. Anyway, to answer your question, the cost was $75 for a reprogram, and the keys were $25.00. I purchased 2 additional keys so that I will always have two spares so that I can make may own.

don't pay to reprogram the keys...do a search...I'm almost positive it is a very similar process to reprogram the chipped keys as it is the key fobs. You can do it and use the money to pay for that "spare" key for next time!

You can only program additional keys at home without a locksmith or dealer if you have 2 working PATS keys.
I had 2 working keys and bought a blank on Epay for $15, then had Hope Depot cut it. They didn't charge me because they could not guarantee that it would work. Well it worked fine and I programmed it.
So if you have 2 good PATS keys, get a third and save a bunch of money!!

Sorry, but you are incorrect. No such process exists.
