Price Opinion for 95 x-cab 4x4

What is your guys opinion on a Kansas truck with 145k miles on it. It is a 1995 black F-150. It has the 351W, 4x4, new windshield, and new tires. It is an extended cab with the factory paint matched step bar like on eddie bauer packages, but is NOT eddie bauer, and it has aftermarket rims. The guy is asking $5100 or best offer. There seems to be no rust. I'm thinking it is a bit overpriced but wanted your guys opinion before trying to haggle to a price that isn't realistic.

Thanks.

Have you driven the truck? Is it auto or 5spd? Does the man have any service / maintenance records? Paying cash? I'd offer $4200. You can do a search on Kelly blue book.com for a realistic value on the truck. I'd b e happy to do it but we don't have much info to go on.

I bought a similar truck four years ago with 115k for $5200. Id say that 4500-4800 would be fair

Whoops, those details totally slipped my mind. No I have not driven the truck I tried calling him just minutes ago but no answer so I wouldn't know about service records. It is an auto. I would probably pay by personal check if he would take it unless paying in cash would decrease the price or make the sell. I was thinking about $4500ish also. His add says new tires, and I was going to ask what brand they were because some can get kind of expensive. It also has a new windshield, how much would one of those cost plus installation?

Depends on your area. Here 1 as described would be about $4000 ish . 40000 miles less and they (well before gas went up ) were selling for $6000+. Like said

Haggle with him . If there r no others in area he'll get what he wants.

Just for a price comparison...

Last summer I bought a 94 F250 HD, 460 w/ E4OD, ext cab, 4x4, long bed with a canopy @ 133K miles, private sale. The truck was in very good shape, inside and out, except it needed elbow work in cleaning it up. The guy had service records and had the front end rebuilt and full brake job. Tires did need replacing.

Inside the truck, he had a FSBO sign with originally $6500 OBO. I found an ad from him listed at $5000. I offered him $4000 and we settled at $4500. This was in OR. This was a 3rd car for him he just wanted to get rid of and it was a third car for me that I was in no rush to buy.

The only thing I have had issue with is the left headlight has condensation in it and I had a cab leak that I finally just found and fixed. Cab leak was a seam going bad and I can't absolutely say the previous owner knew about it.

I would still consider my truck a good buy.

Although mines not an extended cab, i got a 1993 r/c F150 4x4/auto 302 with 52,000 original miles with very little rust on the wheel wells for 4000. I'd say anywhere from 4500-4800 depending on how well it drives. New tires might be that he's trying to hide something though so maybe have the alignment checked if you can.

Thanks for the info guys, but sorry to say when I called him up to ask him a few things and haggle with him, first off I found out that he was a she and second of all found out it had already sold. She sold it for $5000. Apparently it was a good truck or the buyer didn't haggle very well. I wish I could have got it, I've been looking for one almost exactly like it, or any from this generation, for the past 4 months and have not got one yet. I thought this one might be the one. Oh well.

Thanks for the help guys.

I'm not looking for a F250 or F350 just F150's. I don't need something that big. Just something big enough to carry my tools and other junk, pull my trailer with atv and to go muddin in.

Well I suppose you are right. But the f250 would be heavier wouldn't it? Did it have a 460 or 351 in it? I don't want a long bed on a xcab though, just on a regular cab, I don't want something that long.
