Has anyone ever used House of kolor paint products ? I was thinking of painting my truck base coat clear coat black. And maybe adding House of kolor Shimrin kosmic dry pearls. Maybe giving it a black pearl look. I have painted before. But never used that product. But I don't think it could be that hard. I guess ,its just mixing a little into the base coat. Anyone done a pearl job before ?

 

House of Kolor products are definately high quality however you can acheive the same affect using PPG paint. All you would need is to purchase your black base, your clear, PPG DBC 500, and the House of Kolor pearl of your choice.

The DBC 500 is what they call an intercoat clear, essentially its clear base coat. Mix your pearl into the DBC 500 (make sure you measure the amount of pearl you put in incase you need to make repairs in the future). Once you do that spray it on top of your black base to give it a pearlescent look. Then clear. I know it goes against the rules mixing two different brands and paint systems but I've done it many times on my own stuff and for customers and never had any problems.

If price was an object you could use it on Omni brand paints as well. I've also used the DBC 500 with House of Kolors base and clear. Its an awesome product. House of Kolors is wicked expensive and doesnt mean your gonna get a higher quality paint job you can acheive the same quality using other brand paints and just the House of Kolor pearl. Just giving some alternative input and maybe saving you some coin you could invest into the truck elsewhere.
