Is there anyone that can help me do a harpoon and hutch modification to my fuel tank? I do not have a place to do more than maintenance work on my truck. Dropping a tank is also a bit out of my comfort range.
I also have no problem paying a mechanic to do it, provided I can find one that has a clue what I am talking about.
I'm interested to see what replies you get on this, Willie. The harpoon mod is something I have been wanting to do for a while - I get tired of it taking longer to put in the last 5 gallons than it did the first 25.
The hutch mod I am not familiar with.
I never harpooned the tank, just replaced it with a transferflow. The instructions to do so seem straightforward though. If we can figure out a place and time I'll help out. My schedule is quite busy the next several weekends though.

Dropping the tank is not difficult, especially when it's low on fuel, it's actually light and one person can handle it.
droping a tank, no effert at all. i droped the tank from my 70 in my college dorm parking lot at 2 am by my self!!! (i couldnt sleep) and i also put it back up wiht not real problems. i didnt even have to jack up the truck to do it. i took off the the hoses and the fuel gauge sending wire then just unbolted the 2 straps and kinda got on all 4s upside down so that my hands were at one side of the take and my knees were at the other and just tried to slowly lower it(ok i kinda droped it) but it really isnt that bad at all. the H and H stuff i got no idea, im a young gun and it shows sometime
