my 1999 Expy has the oil leak from the head, like most, but dont have the $ to fix, how long will this be ok for, I bought the truck about 2 months ago, the leak isnt that bad, 1/2 quart in 2000 miles so far, other then a smell of burt oil and a drip or two everynight when I park, I can live with it for know, but do they get worse?

 

I drive an '01 F150 (work truck) with the same problem.It started leaking around 70K miles,and we've not really worried about it. It's got 167K miles on it now-still running great. The leak varies depending on how hard I drive it, ambient air temp,and how many miles it is post oil change-it'll usually leak a bit worse when the oil is first changed,and lessens to some degree after 1500 miles or so. It usually leaks almost a quart in 4000 miles-right about the time I have the oil changed anyway.
