2001 Ford Expedition XLT

My Expy now has 288,600 miles. I used Mobil 1 synthetic oil all of its life and changed the transmission out at 225,000 only because of the high mileage and the transmission was given to me. I've had recent issues with the front wheel bearings. The Suv went from 2001 - 2009 on the same front wheel bearings before needing to be replaced. Since August 2009, I've had 3 front wheel bearing jobs done: August 09, May 10 and July 11. I think something in the front suspension is causing them to wear faster than normal.

It doesnt leak oil and at 2000 miles, the oil looks like I just changed it!! The only thing I would like to fix right now would be a shaking in the steering wheel when I apply the brakes. I checked the front brake pads and there is 1/3 of the pad left. Maybe the rotors need to be turned? Or the ball joints are going?

There is also a high pitched vacuum leak sound coming from somewhere I can't locate. It goes away when I accelerate.

It could also be that the quality of the replacement bears are not equal to the original.

Do you have hubs or wheel bearings? If it's wheel bearings and not hubs, are you also replacing the bearing races along with the new wheel bearings?

They are wheel bearings. The first job was done by Midas, Second Job by Ford garage, third one just done by Tire Kingdom. I had the hubs replaced this time as the originals were bent and couldve been allowing debris inside.

What we have here is a failure to communicate!

You just said they are wheel bearings, then you go and say you had the hubs replaced this time. On the front, you can only have wheel bearings OR hubs, not both.
