Transmission Problems

Hi, we have a 47 59ab flathead which we would like to keep in our 41 pickup, however we would like a little more umph behind it. We were going to use the 39 three speed toploader we have in the garage, but have recently aquired a srod transmission. For those of you who are not familiar with an srod it is a tranny is a single rail shifter they used in the mid 80's truck/mustangs, it is a 4 speed od (4th is od). We recently saw a tod (similar to srod) with a flathead bellhousing go for about $500 on ebay. We would like to do this however we not quite sure the way to do it. If you have done this or have experience with this I would like your thoughts. Also If anyone knows were to get a base with shifter at a reasonable price please let me know. THANKS

every one i knew threw 'em away so there cant be too many out there . everyone here talks about the s-10 t-5 and cornhusker has the kit . might be a more viable alternative . i'm even considering one for my 53 .
