I'm here still..... or again? With as hard of a time I'm having finding parts for the 78, especially body parts, I've been thinking about how hard it would be to swap my cab for something else, or to drop my drivetrain in something else. Thinking along the lines of a b2 or a ranger, but I'm not sure. If I did it with a mini truck like that, I would loose being street legal because of the width.
I figure I can pretty much do it for free, or cheaply for the cost of nickle and dime stuff. I guess if I had the new body/truck all stripped down and ready, once I get a dd (soon I hope) I could just tackle the big parts in a weekend. I always think to much/ too far ahead when I'm drunk.....

Nick,
the diagram that you posted of a 205 rebuild....Does it have a part number chart? The extra case I have is in good shape so far from tearing it down. The bearings all seem to be tight except one so I might just replace the seals and one of the input bearings instead of buying a complete kit.
What do you think?....Am I being stupid for trying to save ~$100?
