does this sound right?

i have a 97 single wheel 350 4x4 crew cab long bed...automatic, 3.55 gears. i have a wildman chip and k&n filter...everthing else is stock. i am averaging 14-15 mpg..on a 30 mile trip back and forth to work on back country roads mostly running 60 sometimes 65. Does this sound right?

Sounds about right depending on how hard you squeeze the go pedal.
Do yourself a favor though- do some research on the 6637 mod, get yourself the needed parts, and throw the K&N in the garbage.

thanks.....yeah i've been thinking about the filter change....i did not put the k&n in it....but that's the way it came...i like the larger filter though....i'll give it a try.

i'm debating swapping to a 5 spd tranny....i think this would make a difference in milage plus i've always been partial to a manual shift.

Sounds about right. Thats all I get out of mine with the same setup. A 5 sp will take a long time to off set the cost. If you want a thats fine but you won't realize any financial gains for a long time.
