Used Oil $

I am having a hard time finding used veg oil to try this bio stuff out. It excites me the possibilities of taking away from big oil, especially taking my money out of thier hands. Some of the sources I've approached want to sell me the oil. I don't mind buying it, it will save me in the long run. Anybody else have this problem? What is a fair price? Any other strategies?
