JB "Water Weld" - Oil pan

Well...Im about at the end of my witts! I had another leak sprout up in my oil pan that was pretty bad, so i drained my oil - and patched the pan with JB. Problem being, it wouldnt harden quick enough becuase its so damn cold in michigan. Long story short - it didnt work and the leak is getting worse. I have done this in the summer and it works great , its this damn weather. Would this work - http://jbweld.net/products/water.php

I dont want to drop another $40 in oil and its to cold. Any quick fix solutions until the weather warms up? I have done JB and POR-15 and they work great but not when its this cold. I dont have access to a warm warehouse or shop.

Perhaps run the engine for a while and then get a small space heater to heat the local region up enough so that your oil thinks that part of it is on vacation in south Flrodia. If you hang some blankets all around the truck as a windscreen, the heater should give you what you need.

Another suggestion for warming up the pan. Use one of those clamp type work lights with the shiny reflector or a 300 watt quartz work light, they will concentrate heat on a small area.

I agree with Robin regarding the use of a work light to direct some heat but a word of caution, be VERY careful. A guy that works for me burned his garage down a couple of months ago and with it his Dodge Cummins truck. The light he was using fell and landed on some plastic sheeting that ignited and burned the garage down. He was in the house getting something and when he came back outside it was too late.

On the upside you wouldn't have to worry about the oil leak anymore...

I'm sorry, I had to!
