Hemieater, Like I said, was just curious, I have. Scared the crap out of me, thought I'd lost the whole motor. It just holds the exploded charge untill the intake valve opens and then it ignites everything in the intake, which kinda sounds like a really loud knock from the passenger compartment. As far as the problem at hand,IDK, maybe accelerator pump or vaccumn advance on the dist?

Hi just a thought you could have a bad lifter or bent vale thats not working right i found this the hard way 302 60 over lifter went bad hit #1 pistin and crack my block also it could be a bad seal on the front or back of the intake or its not seated just right jj98

Is the 302 an HO motor? Was it TBI? If so it uses the 351 firing order.
