I have a 99 Expy EB. The door ajar indicator light will not shut off therefore the interior lights, Running board lights will not shut off. I can hear the relay click but they will not go off! Is this a sensor related problem or another electrical problem. Any ideas would be helpful. For now I have taken out the fuse so battery will not drain. Thanks

 

Might be the switch in the door, they have a tendency to get gummed up and stuck.
I sprayed a little WD40 into mine and pushed in in and out a few times and haven't had a problem since.

 

yeah, that's a common problem. Usually it's what bigmtk said, one of your door sensors is sticking. Get a can of WD40 or equivalent, and spray the heck out of the door latches. Open and close them a couple times. Repeat. Usually that will get it to unstick.

 

I love this forum. The door ajar light on my 99 Expo was starting to stay on sometimes. A search of "door ajar" lead me to many posts about WD-40 fixing the problem. Five minutes later the problem is fixed. Thanks!
