NYC hybrid taxis pass 175000 miles

I was just googling and found out that after 2 years, the NYC taxis have gone over 175000 miles with no major problems. That's pretty awesome. It might be more now, as I didn't check the dates on the articles.

sfcwoodret is starting off with a positive reputation.
Ford's Escape has proven itself as one of their better reliable vehicles made. The F-150 and the Ranger fit into that catagory also.

Sounds like more propaganda from the tree-hugging lunatics to me. Everyone knows that hybrids are a joke. You have to plug them in at night, the batteries cost about a billion dollars and they need to be changed every couple years and those new-fangled CVT's probably won't last either. And don't even get me started about all the additional maintenance the hybrids need....oh and if you get into an accident in one you could electricute an entire neighborhoon.

The best part is that this one case is the rule, not the exception. Despite what the doubters said (and still say), the hybrids have been a great success and are incredibly reliable.

I've got two and wouldn't hesitate for a second to get another one.

Us? Yes we are schizo.

I guess you missed all the clues that most of that post was totally tongue-in-cheek. The first being the fact that the entire first paragraph was a parody of all the nonsense spouted by hybrid non-believers. The second being the smiley face indicating I was kidding. The third clue being this statement:

Quote:

followed closely by my signature that tells what my two primary family cars are.

And finally, and much more subtle, my three plus years of telling how much I like the hybrid vehicles.

Guess you missed it. My most sincere apologies for appearing crazy.....
