Red face Door Alignment

I know this topic has been hashed out before, but, I've got stock door seals, stock hinges and latches. Drivers door closes fine, passenger door, well you really have to slam it to get it to latch. I have tried adjusting the catch/striker out but it doesn't seem to make any difference. I've just cracked my window from the heavy handed closing, so I need advice.
The door has never closed well since I've had the truck. I put new door rubber on and that didn't help. Anything I should be looking for?

The angle of the striker plate seems to make a big difference. Tilt it up and down and see if it gets better or worse. Adjust as neccessary.

I just discovered that the repro strikers are longer than stock by up to 3/16 of an inch. Measure the striker on the good side and see if this is your problem as the striker may have been replaced at some time.

Is it that the door-side latch is too far away from the fixed plate? Maybe you need to shim it out.

I don't know, Ross. Do you mean the wedge shaped piece may be too far away from the door? I'll have to take a look at it this weekend.

Thanks Bob. I think the door may be twisted somehow, so I'll take a look and see if I can straighten it, by carefully slamming.
haha
