1998 - E250 Heater Problems - Misfire

Have a 1998 e-250 with 113,000Mi and the heater started to work when it wanted to work. is there a test I can do to diagnose.
Also, just installed new plugs, awsf- 34f m and new wires from ford dealer. Was getting a p0174 and misfire codes on cyl 5 and 6. Was told wires and plugs should do the trick, didnt! Now going to try the egr clean out and seafoam angle and see if it does the trick, as seen on other threads. Idles fine but has misfire upon acceleration. kinda slight but its there. Don't want to go the coil pack route yet until I see if the other remedies work. Any other advise?

Try swapping coils with another cylinder ( good vs bad) and see if code is thrown onto another cyl. If it is, then you have a bad coil pack. Its about time that you would have one go bad. ('98 and over 100k)

What wires did you replace? Also the boots may be deteriated causing misfire. Were boots replaced?

My heater control switch in the dash was acting up and when I looked at it, the switch was all melted. Replaced and havent had a problem since.
