Ya, you could use an electric cutout, but is there really enough room under the truck for another exhaust system?

I imagine on a truck as low as a Lightning it would be a packed operation. Would be pretty cool though... Imagine the look on your friends faces when you pull up with one exhaust note and then switch it up right in front of them.

A buddy of mine has a 99 Z28 and had is cutout welded in just behind the passenger seat and has the stock exhaust. It sounds very very nice with the cutout open. I think that if he had no cats or something like that it might be a bit loud though.

Nope, cutouts don't add any horsepower on a Lightning. Plus they don't sound all that great either (except being rediculously loud).

deebee do you have any proof to back up your claim that cutouts don't add ANY hp what so ever?

I know this is an old thread. Buy, Im 20 and I'm buying a lighting tomorrow. So I had to comment. In the four years I've been driving I've had one speeding ticket so we'll see how that changed? Is the Lightning to much for a Daily Driver?

One thing I can almost guarantee, you will put your foot into the throttle. That's the whole point in buying one. Another thing is certain... put your foot into the throttle enough times and statistically sooner or later you will be nailed. Maybe you'll get lucky and get a warning like I did.
