look imo its not always a race thing but put yourself in a cops place, if you see a old man speeding and you see a young kid in a rice car speeding who are you going to pull over? me and my cuz was in memphis for a job and i had to take my truck that day and we are both 18/white/big redneck lookin boys and we were drving my lifted 80 bronco with tinted windows and a antiqe tag and i was on my way back to the jobsite from lunch and a cop speeds up behind me and pulls me over and its 2 black cops, he starts to ask me why im in memphis and why i have that tag and why im driving with that tag on a week day, so i explain to him that im working and our work truck is in that shop and that i lived in hornlake ms and that its legal to have that tag and drive during the week, i was very nice and respectfull and then he told me how everything is ok and that most people go off on him and that he thanked me for cooperating with him and for me to have a nice day. i also have a tan 69 ford f100 with a 460 and its LOUD but the cops don't give me a second look i thhink cuz it's an old truck but my cuz had a orange mazda and it was stock other then the paint and he got pulled over all the time one cop told him it's all because the truck.
Ok, as a State Trooper I can tell you this. Somehow or someway you have likely rubbed someone the wrong way. Initially I'd bet your loud exhaust is what is getting you into trouble. I am a 'car guy' but not all cops are. MANY cops will associate sound with speed. I can vouch for this first hand! I have been pulled over in my mustang (longtubes and prochamber, no mufflers dumpung under the rear seat) and the cop certainly didn't catch me speeding. he seen me accelerate from a gas station and it was loud. He gave me a Wreckless driving ticket for exhibition of speed. needless to say, I fought it and won. I would almost guarantee this has nothing to do with Race so please don't play that card. It won't work and will just make people more upset about the situation. Most likely you now have a reputation in the area probably somehting like "punk kid in a red lightning with loud exhaust." You just really need to lay low for a while and don't give then ANY reason to pull you over! Always use your signals, come to complete stops, everything. Give them a month or 2 without having to deal with you and htey will forget and move on to some other "punk kid." If you go the radar route and you get pulled over, take it down as fast as possible or you will get a ticket! Plain and simple. No cop is going to let you off when you have a device to help you not get a ticket.
Another scenario which relates to yours, a few years ago my best friend was driving his mustang down a city street at about 1230am. He was going about 115-125 in a 35. He passes a cop coming towards him. He knows he's busted as he sees the cop quickly pull a U and turn the lights on. he doesn't pull over. instead he downshifts and speeds away. In a stretch about 10 miles he passes 4 more which had been radio'd. He turns into a subdivision and stashes the car and walks away. Waits an hour and goes back. Drives back to his apartment and continues the party he is having with several underage people drinking at his house. Cops come to his house and ask him if it was him. Fearing that they'd cause a problem and knowing that in Oklahoma the law is like $1500 per underage person drinking to the owner of the house, he smartly admits it. He got off pretty light with a wreckless and evading and the judge cut him some slack and gave him probation, 4 saturdays in Jail, and about $1000 fines. The next weekend we put a new 700r4 in his 72 chevy pickup. But for whatever reason we couldn't get the kickdown to work properly and we were a little low on fluid so we took it to autozone for fluid and a test drive. This was about 2 miles from my house where we were working on the truck. on the way back, we pull into my subdivision and he gives it some gas to see if it would change to 2nd gear. It wouldn't. I see a cop ahead and tell him to slow down, we were going maybe 30 if that in a 25, truck was stuck in 1st gear. Cop says we were going 48mph and that we had been racing up and down the street all night and they had gotten complaints. We were litterally 100ft from my driveway. I try to explain to the officer what was going on and he told me to "Sit there and shut up or walk home!" I was pretty pissed! He got a ticket and I went to court with him(I was not a cop then but in the military) He had a reciept from the tranny shop stating that the truck would not shift out of first. He had me saying that it did not shift. And he had an officer who had been with the police for 13 years. The officer told him the truck shifted and we were going 48 (which could have easy been clocked from a car passing on the street perpendicular to the one we were on since the limit was 45 on that street.) My friend got his probabtion revoked and had to pay ALOT more fines! He was pulled over several times after that on his bike before he learned to just lay low. It's been several years since he's been pulled over.
Whew!!! That was a book!!! Just lay low and don't give them ANY reason to stop you! best advice i can give you!
i really appreciate all of the info fellaz..i've been laying low..i took the tint off of my side windows to the legal 35%..but its hard to lay low if your truck is a everyday driver to go to work and school lol..but what really pisses me off..excuse the language but a cop owned my truck before me and he had the illegal tint and ect. on the truck..but they want to pick on me all of a sudden but didnt get on him..kinda messed up if you ask me..but anyways..now i have some different tires on the truck to really stand out..everybody know its me because its about 5 red lightnings in this area..but i put some 285/25/18 low pros all around the truck so now it sits about 1 1/2-2 inches lower..took me awhile to grow on it but i really like the setup now..i dont speed at all..so i dont really need a radar but it would really be nice to own one..but with all the attention on me i dont care right now because i know i'm not doing anything wrong so its ok..so now its time to make the truck LOUDER lol with a stage 3 cam lol jp..but i do want to do somemore mods to my truck soon

Cutouts will make it louder. I'd stay away from them or the next thing we'll hear is that they gave you a ticket for altering an emissions part ie exhaust complete with cat and muffler, depending on your state laws. I had one on my z28 when in high school. made the car sound awesome but it was a pain finding someone to weld it on because they could get in alot of trouble for doing it.
oh dang well i'm not sure what the law on emission is around here with the exhaust in Georgia..i mean my truck is already loud enough..so i doubt i would get that job done..plus i dont really trust anybody with doing work like that on my baby like that lol
i said that because he could swap the mufflers out for some that arent so loud but have the cutouts so whenever he wants it to be loud he can. i have some on my 69 with a 460 and i love them the best thing i ever put on the truck

And How exactly can I make it loud when i want it to be??
I think I've seen some cutouts with electric solenoids and I've seen some with like a pull cord kinda setup. Just put a set on each exhaust bank and you run mufflers or pipes or whatever from each of the cutoffs. So one way your letting the exhaust flow through pipes and the other is either free flowing or however else you wanna set it up.
