i have a 2007 f-250 6.0. i have the superchips programer and it doesnt spit out as much or as thick smoke as i would like it to....i am not to interested in changhing my setup. i have straight exaust, afe stage 5 intake, with the redline download. i heard something about a VGT being unplugged and that would do it, what is this and how do you do it?? can i get some other download for my programer to dump more fuel? WHAT CAN I DO, any suggestions..
The black smoke is unburnt fuel. That is inefficiency. With the price of fuel why would you want to throw diesel fuel out like that. I don't understand.

I guess I don't get it but you can unplug the VGT control valve.Click Here
My old files were slow and smoked, the files now are quicker with no visible smoke only at spool up at the staging line. Once the VGT is unplugged you will have significant engine lag and would get your butt handed to you by a Toyota Celica, if being humiliated in front of your friends is what you want, Smoke Away.
when your a teen ager I guess it doesn't matter as long as you look kewl.

Yeah hope you dont park in a high school parking lot... There was a guy who owned a dodge dully who ended up with a smashed a piller and windshild.
He would always drive around and smoke the street out... Kinda what your trying to do. I suggest that you grow up a little bit and stop polluting the enviorment for your enterteinment...
It's people like you that give diesel owners of all makes a bad name.
Just a rational thought process

i dont get you guys that have attitudes, if you dont like what i want to do with my own truck and cant post something nice, then dont post it man. im just trying to become more familiar with my first diesel and would like to learn alot about it. and im 23 mnmwhit. and nathan i got your idea covered. have 2 cams that start recording to my hardrive on my pioneer z2 when the alarm is activated as well as a remote that lets me knwo whats goin on....feel free to throw somethin through my window but ima be there to greet you and ruin your day. DOES UNPLUGING THE VGT MESS ANYTHING UP?????
i just went outside and unplugged it. i think it was the right one from what i could see on the diagram. let me get this straight. i have a 2007 f250 6.0 and by unhooking this vgt valve i will gain more smoke? all i did was step on the gas peddel in park, i didnt drive it around. i didnt see any difference.

The easiest thing to do is to go to a custom tuner and get them to write a smoke file for you. In all honesty, this does not help you learn anything about your first diesel. I for one try to get smoking turned down although what I've done kinda makes it hard, however, I will say this in defense for people that have attitude(atleast how I think on this subject) your just wasting fuel, fuel that is at a premium for us and for those that have to use their trucks for a living(like me) have a hard time when someone just wants to blow smoke, not really increase performance, but just blow smoke.

You're not gonna see much when you're parked. You gotta load the engine. Put it in drive, step on the brake, and hit the throttle.
As for blowing smoke, there is nothing "kewl" about it. Unburned fuel is unburned fuel. It's people like you who are gross polluters who are getting lobbyists after the government to clean up the exhaust, adding particulate filters and stuff like that. Stuff that when added, will only hurt the fuel consumption. Diesel used to be the way to go, but with all the extra emissions stuff now, you aren't getting as much of a benefit, and might as well stick with a gasoline engine.

I guess we are getting older but this guy asked a question of FTE. The best fourm to ask question, and get answers. I think he knows that smoke is wasting fuel. If I had back all the fuel I wasted when I was 23, I would have fuel for years. I can also leave a smoke cloud with my 7.3. If I knew the answer to his question I would tell him.
Sorry for the rant.
