blk99 you might wana re-phrase your sentace from PSD. Matt already has a 6.4 over the 500hp mark with a complety stock truck with the dpf removed and his tunes. 500hp with a motor that has been out less than a year, it is looking good in the performance department of the 6.4's.

If you are talking about my post it was Matt from Spartan Diesel. He has a 210hp tune out right now that is putting the 6.4 over the 500 rwhp mark and is currently working on a 240hp tune. This is with a complety stock truck with the dpf removed.
He did say though a aftermarket intake helps it out abunch.

Josh, does he have dyno sheets, timeslips, or something to verify the claim? If that new motor is capable of that much power with just a chip and exhaust removal, that's impressive.

Makes you wonder why we waste our time with the old school tech.

Impressive. Makes me wonder what will be the weak link[s] in the new engines.

Lol so far it has no weak links. Matt said that even the tranny has not slipped once with his 240 tune he is working on. And it is outside of its torque rating. He also said that on the older torq shifts it would slip with that much power but the ones on the 08's dont for some reason.

duramaximizer is new and has a neutral reputation at this point.
The problem with a dyno in general is that it is a false addiction. Okay, so you can make hp on a dyno and torque on a dyno. What does it prove in the application for which it was designed? I personally like dyno's as a tool, but the real world is much different. Track times prove power the the ground, track distances prove power to the ground, towing proves power to the ground or it accomplish a goal in my mind. Dyno's prove possible potential, nothing more and nothing less in my mind.

If you run the dyno and make it's lies the major goal, it seems to me like you're playing with a lab rat. There is a lot to learn, but a smaller amount of it is actually useable.

Correction factors to me have always been an excuse to claim a higher hp then you actually made.
