Anyone have any ideas or recommendations on spray on liners? I have a pretty scruffy bed - with alot of fender dents - banged out badly from the outside, and some rust holes in the floor and behind the cab. I was assured by a spray on bed vendor (of course) that he could patch those rust holes, and when that liner is on "you wouldn't see the dents."
but of course he WOULD say that - but I am intrigued. I use my bed for alot of hauling -this aint' no garage queen -and I would like a durable bed - easy to clean.

It is possible, bedliner will cover some minor dents and dings but not big ones. Your dealer can repair and cover, but you better be assured what is is from him before he starts. IMHO

When I had mine sprayed the first time I did not knock out all the dents, and they did show, evan some of the small ones. The first liner came off, cheap brand, so when I put on the new one, better brand, I did bang out the dents.

I beleive as in all things prep work is a must. Even if your truck is use as a hualer; I recommend repairing the holes; I believe the spray guy will just patch the bottom of the hole with tape; spray and let dry; then you'll have a cover until something solid lands on it.
I would only recommend Speedliner for spraying; but linex & Rhino have warranties as well; just get it all clarified prior to paying. Speedliner has the best result's in my opinon; but its all in the prep work.
Getting most of the large dents and bumps straighten will allow future restoration if desired; so once a good quality spray liner is in its for good..
I am planning on having the underside of my cab sprayed with rhino liner and was also thinking of having the inside of the firewall and inside floor board sprayed too.
I guy I know had the underside of the floorboard sprayed and it cut down the road noise.
I Would Repair All Dents And Rustholes And Prime Bed Pryor To Bedliner
It Wont Stop Rust Thats Already Eaing At The Metal Just Cover It Until Bottom Falls Out
I haven't heard of or seen a Speedliner job but I've seen Rhino and Line-X. I chose Line-X on a newer pickup I had and I made the right choice. It held up wonderful and I thought it looked much better than a Rhino liner. I will definitely go Line-X for all my other rigs. I'm not sure if Speedliner is better, but you can't go wrong with Line-X and you won't regret it. As for prep. Definitely fix what you want fixed dent and hole wise yourself so they don't charge for bodywork, too. That's an easy way to cut down your final investment.
A local company called TNT Bedliners sprayed mine pretty cool to watch it being done. But like everyone has stated, prep work is a must. Otherwise your just hiding the work you don't want to do. Rust won't go away, it's still doing damage much like a termite does, you can't see it happenning, but it is. Dent's won't magically disappear there still there and will show. Holes and othe damage areas will get taped then sprayed. So you want to fix this before you get it sprayed.

A bedliner is on my "to do list" for ALL of my trucks, I did a Line-X on my last 4 new trucks, definately a great addition, but I wouldn't cover up rust without first treating it really well. And yes dents WILL show, and it will still dent in but it does a nice job of protecting it, cleaning is easier, and crap doesn't slide all over. I am partial to Line-X, but again, prep-work is the key.
