Moisture inside oil cap

I was wondering if anyone else has moisture inside their oil cap or if i have bigger problems i checked my oil on my 03 today and it was a little low when i removed the oil cap to fill it the inside of the cap and the neck of the filler were coated with a nice creamy mixture it didnt have any on the dipstick i cleaned the cap and fill tube and let it run for 10-15 mins and could see small water droplets on the bottom of the cap, antifreeze was still full, truck has 78,000 on it and i run royal purple oil, thanks for any help

It is very common to see some moisture/gunk in the filler neck and on the cap in the winter. It comes from condensation and shorter drives. Both my trucks do it. As long as you're oil isn't milky or thick when you drain it, you're good to go.

if you do short trips, the motor is not hot long enough to evaporate the condensation in the crank case. if you drive for a hour or two, the condensation will evaporate(mostly)

aslong as you use good oil, (royal purple, or any good synthetic for example) you have nothing to worry about. there add pack stands up well the condensation.

its only when one uses cheap oil you could have a problem. if enough condensation gathers and you get water in your oil you could cause some damage. water and oil dont mix. . .
but again this is very rare with cheap oil, so you dont need to worry.
