Ok ANOTHER change today in Wake Forest, NC!! Earlier today diesel was still at $3.999 for about the last week. Tonight on the way home it has JUMPED to $4.059! Oh by the way gas has NOT moved from $3.219 for almost one week.. Holy crap is this country going to be in real trouble when most of the long haul truckers start parking their rigs!!!

Good, you are another American with an opportunity here. Quit complaining about it, start your own oil & gas company hire some drilling rigs, buy some mineral rights, build a couple refineries, and sell it for $1 a gallon via your own gas stations. If you cannot fathom the above, vote for Hitlory or Barack, they will definately "fix" it for you.

Well, you may not know it, but that is exactly what needs ot happen. With the lowering of interest rates which further de-value the American Dollar vs the Euro or Yen, (which is why oil is trading at $100 plus per bbl, trade your dollars for something of certain value, gold, oil, hogs, or any other commodity) there is only 1 way for a market correction to occur, yep, you guessed it black monday, thursday or friday, whichever day it happens to occur on.

Buy a cow and learn how to milk it, it is pretty easy and requires only human energy.

cant ... the town i live in wont let us own farm animals in the city limits
but atleast i wont feel bad about chargin 300.00 to tow a car or truck since fuel is gettin so high ...then i can afford a gallon of milk

i own 4 wreckers and these fuel prices trickle down hill to the customers ...thats the point i was makin about the price of milk

we did try to get a mini horse and the town said NO and set a law about livestock with in citylimits

What do you think will happen with the farmers?? In a few months when planting starts to happen, let alone when fall comes around. The combines, the idling tractors, the trucks idling while loading..... It will be very interesting to see what the government plans to do about this. The only way I can see to get prices down is by raising the value of the dollar combined with lack of demand for oil. couple these with more biodiesel percentages like up around 20. Those things will definately lower the cost you pay at the pump. The problem is that these are all just short term solutions. By short term I mean 10-15 years. Ethanol/bio-diesel will buy time until something is developted that will relieve us from oil completely. That is the only way to get rid of this problem all together. Drilling more oil will put a bandaid over the problem until the new sources run out eventually. We can attempt to fix the problem now or keep pushing it off and let later generations deal with the band aides that we tried to stop the bleeding temporarily with.
By the way, this is obviously just my personal opinion. I have no clue if anyone thinks the same way and I guess it doesn't matter. Just after recently completing my senior year in college, this is all we talk about it seems and did plenty of research on the topic along the way. All options to me besides finding something else that doesn't require oil at all is the only solution.

Having the Fed Res put more money into the economy to bail out the instituations delutes the amount of currency on the market making it worth less. Reducing the value of the dollar will raise the prices of commodities like oil, gold, corn, ect. Rising commodities bring the dollar further down. By the Fed Res bailing out banks for making poor business decisions they turn this whole mess into a vicious cycle.

By the way (I posted this elsewhere) today in Valdez, Alaska. The port town where the trans alaska pipeline ends and the location of a refinery. Diesel prices were $4.189 per gallon.

Evictorwalli. Went and filled up the Ambulance today. It states $4.189 on the pump. Look at your recipt and you'll notice the price is $4.289. I was also told in the next couple of week diesle will jump another $0.50. Man that almost $5 a gallon on the road system. My damn heating bill was also a shocker. Got last months and since they are going to a new billing system the also sent us the current one. $1200 for home fuel oil. I forsee alot of firewood cutting this fall. Hate to see what some of remote bush communities are paying. I'm parking the truck and driving the focus. I hate to do that since I do love the safety and security with the kids but it's starting to hurt way to much.

We think we have trouble now? Well let one of them get into office and we'll be headed down "socialism road". All you have to do is look at Cuba to see how well that works.

I don't like it either....

....so either we pay the price or we buy another rig. Gasser, rice burner, bicycle, or what ever. The choice is still OURS. All we have do is think about what we really want to do. We are in a real sad situation, but we have lots of choices. I hate it too, but I just have get over it and move on.
