Oh , Speed and RPM do kill milage(I take no issue at all with that), but the use of taller (maybe mandated)overdrives could have us all doing 80 with lower consumption. But yes lives could be saved with lower speeds (&,air bags, shoulder harnesses, collision avoidance software). I would miss the time added to my once 65mph (or so) commute. I could with others increas the density of the work centers (as done in china) but our youth need places with lower levels of development to say,, develope. Best wishes to all

We need to search our selves for the answers as well. I thought about this all way back when we started getting lower north American Fords and my 70 camaro started really looking to be American history material.
Could we push hard for deregulation here and make a, price differance happen? I don't know. We have vast amounts of resources locked up in Alaska, Off coast , and in places not available for use by industry. Some for good sound reasons but, the not in my back yard crowd really wont move to help the masses of little guys. High prices may be the true wake up call it takes to bring about changes. We as a group consume in much smarter (technologicly) ways than we have in the past and would hope to see some relief for doing so, but globall socio-economic (controll-devolping nations) forcess will be a constant hinderance to fuel price relief. Again just my deminished value 2-cents, soory about the spelling. to many days in class with hot-rod magazine .
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXWe can start here....Saudis are boycotting American goods. We should return the favor.

An interesting thought is to boycott their GAS.

Every time you fill up the car, you can avoid putting more money into the coffers of
Saudi Arabia. Just buy from gas companies that don't import their oil from the Saudis.

Nothing is more frustrating than the feeling that every time I fill-up the tank, I am sending my money to people who are trying to kill me, my family, and my friends.

I thought it might be interesting for you to know which oil companies are the best to buy gas from and which major companies import Middle Eastern oil.

These companies import Middle Eastern oil:

Shell........................... 205,742,000 barrels

Chevron/Texaco......... 144,332,000 barrels

Exxon /Mobil.... ........... 130,082,000 barrels

Marathon/Speedway... 117,740,000 barrels

Amoco............................62,231,000 barrels

Citgo gas is from
South America, from a Dictator who hates Americans. If you do the math at $30/barrel, these imports amount to over $18 BILLION! (oil is now $90 - $100 a barrel

Here are some large companies that do not import Middle Eastern oil:

Sunoco..................0 barrels

Conoco..................0 barrels

Si nclair.................0 barrels

B P/Phillips............0 barrels

Hess.......................0 barrels

ARC0....................0 barrels

Same ($3.99) here. Some places were changing the signs when I drove by. I'd ride a bicycle to work, but work is nearly 25 miles away. Can't win for losing.

Maybe I should get my helicopter license instead.

I'm kinda lucky a new station onpend and its 3.59. I cant belive I just said I'm lucky to be paying 3.59 Three weeks ago it was 3.19. The only way I see prices going down is if some one steps up and stops the price fixing going on by the oil companies and gas stations. But any one with the authority to do that is in bed with the oil companies.

We hit 4.15 a gallon in dayton ohio and I cant help but think being amish never looked so good ! Haha Does any body want to trade a 2000 F350 for a fuel efficient quarter horse ? Im open for offers ! haha Oh and I noticed a serious decrease in fuel mileage and replaced my air filter and the build up of dirt and dust was costing almost 3 miles per gallon ! Check your filters periodically to save your gas mileage.
