Be thankful that some of y'all can switch to different vehicles. I'm stuck, unless you know of a any econo vehicle that can haul gooseneck trailers(maxing out at 7k, 12.5k, and 16k). Barn supplies I can get with any type of suv, but there is just no economical sense in my running two vehicles after you figure all the costs that would be associated for two vehicles in my case.

Only thing is nobody is really forcing us to pay. The animation should be redone. Because each of us go willingly to the pumps and take it in the shorts. I just bought a Ford Fusion for my work commute. I will now only use the truck for hauling firewood and pulling the toys ie. camper, snowmobiles......

Unfortunately there are alot of factors that play into this, some that have been mentioned and some that have not been mentioned. It isn't quite as easy as just switching people in power, if only it were that simple.

Sounds good, but how much fuel does the purchase price, financing, insurance, upkeep, and taxes buy?

Mike

This tread is a little less than a month old, and $3.99 sounds pretty good now.

2 years ago there was a memo from an oil co texaco (i think)to exxon to cut production to raise prices, read on fox news tv and there was the catch we are the only company that cuts production to make more money now there were several talks back then but nothin was done i think when the oil compay xo go to washington it is to carry a few billion for their retirements;not sure but anyway they could send the tax back on their profits but it would be illegal to tax their profits ;like i say there are only two cartells that make ridiculous profits the drug and the oil,my only hope is win the lottery as working for a livin is just that working till i die,i have my '76f100/with302 it was 300 6cly after 3 motor replacements i had to go with a 302 as there were no 300 6 at that time at first i thought i got 10 miles to the gallon it was going to be rough on me back then i drove 70 one way to rome ga to work well after i got the 302 in there i have never regretted it as i get better gas milage was then 20 miles to gallon later got '80 f150 motor tran/w/od and now get close to 30 miles to gallon but carb only as the next was dual exhaust with glasspacks dumping out in front of the rear axel i have had this truck since'81 and put lots of miles on still go to ga for lotto tickets 2 times a month,at 3.41 i still have to buy gas oh i really got great mileage but after it would not crank one day fuel filter was stopped up i do struggle getting the great milage but if i baby it and set up a fudge i can get the 30 but the f150 302 trans had o/d as well as i had the rear end put in there i love driving this truck have went to trade years ago but after i got back in mine it just was no contest my truck drove best was paid for as well and now it needs a paint job but i have the motor looking like it came in this truck only no polution pumps or catalitic converters or gas robing stuff;i have a 351w i was going to put in there when this motor goes out but it runs like new;the intake gasket leaks oil but not enough to fool with now oh i put in one headlight in since i have had it as well as one new set of shocks lately..
