Howdy all! As some of you know, I used to live in the greater Phoenix area...for 20 years or so. I left early in 2005, visited twice in 06, somehow avoided Phoenix altogether in 2007, and am wrapping up my first visit of 08.
My birthday was yesterday...my niece decided to take me out and get me stupid drunk to celebrate...while we had a wonderful time, I had to laugh at Phoenix's answer to San Francisco...that'd be Scottsdale. And while I knew that somewhere in the dark corners of my memory, I was surprised to see it last night.
We went to a bar a bit north of Frank Lloyed Wright and Shea...there were maybe a dozen guys and three or four women. As I was NOT trolling for female company, I got to sit back and watch. I thought I'd be watching the fellas fight over the women, but to my surprise, the girls were fighting over me!!!
The fellas seemed more interested in eachother if you know what I mean.
No one was indecent or rude, but somehow it amazed me to see some decent looking women (not gorgeous, but not ugly by any means...) out chasing guys that were um.... "less than interested."
Of course, as I had escorted my NIECE to this establishment, I also left the establishment with her...but not before TWO other women pointed out that my niece already has a boyfriend...and wanted to know why exactly I was leaving with her?
Good Lord.

Back in the day, the place to go was Earthquake Magoons. (Not in any way affiliated with San Francisco connotation's BTW). There were many early A.M. aftershocks as a result of that place. ....I am happy to say.

That's how it always is, when you are not fishing there's fish everywhere, But once you pick up that fishing pole..... Forget it, They will all Disappear. Anyways scottsdale is where the women go to catch rich guys, Glad you enjoyed youself here in Arizona!
That always amazed me. In my single days I would go out with a female friend to dinner or dancing & the single women would try & pick me up. Go alone & they wanted nothing to do with you. In my single days I was fortunate I had a couple of lady friends that were only friends & we would go out from time to time to have fun. Other women pick up on women hitting on a man sometimes quicker than we do. We would both get a kick out of it. I will say they taught me a lot. The easiest way to find a lady is NOT BE LOOKING. That is exactly how I met my wife. over 11 years ago.
