choak / thermastat help

Hey I have a carb which im trying to figure out. It has one of the old style thermastat choaks on it however its not hooked to anything. Someone has pieced this motor together and it appears they didnt hook it up. Where exactly would it get hooked up too. I would assume somewhere coming off a header since it uses warm air to control the choak amount.

any ideas

There is a little metal tube that comes up from your exhaust manifold. Probably rusted off, at least mine did, just plugged hose going into carb. seems to run alright

Most people go with a manual choke conversion to eliminate the hassle. You may also want to check with Napa, they may have a electric conversion that has a sensor that molunts on the engine block.

You Can also get universal choke heat riser tubes from most auto parts stores.

What carb is it?
It's not on a 2002 F150, is it?.
If it's a Holley they sell both electric and manual choke conversion kits.
Here is their choke service page:

He doesn't say what carb it is, or is on, but the only truck in his profile is a 2002 F150.
