Drac is starting off with a positive reputation.
86 F-250 Front caliper removal

I have a 86 f-250 and the front caliper ( dual piston- 8600 gvw). All the ford brakes I have done in the past have a 1/2" or 9/16" headed bolt holding in a H-clip and spring in the bottom. This truck does not have the bolt or h-clip. It looks as if the caliper only comes off when removed with the rotor.

Does this make any sense?

GLR is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
There is a "spring" loaded pin to drive out. Located at the bottom. There is a special driver but, a punch works well. Use some caliper lube on re-assembly.

Yes, it's two pieces of metal with rubber molded to them. Just drive them out.
Be careful and see how they come out though, although someone before you may have put them in backwards. If you notice, they have two metal nubs that stick out. The spacing on these nubs locks the pin on the caliper bracket. If you put them in backwards they seem to work ok, but they are not locked in like they are supposed to be.
