Fun with numbers!

I used the VIN decoder in the articles/specs section available in the blue bar at the top of the page.

Everything was right on except it indicated my 83's chassis as 4x4, but I know for an absolute fact that I have a 4x2.

I have a pretty clear photo of my vehicle ID sticker in my gallery if anyone is interested in clearing up this mystery.

Look around on the internet, and see if you can find another decoder. Ours is not that great.

The 5-7 characters in your VIN are F10 which indicates a 2wd F100. The VIN codes for a 4X4 F100 would be F11, which I don't believe they made in 83. Still a nice truck...looks to be in great original shape.

Piffery1 is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
According to my 1983 Ford Light Truck shop manual:
2FT = Ford of Canada truck
C = Class C 4001-5000 lbs.
F10 = Reg. Cab F100 4X2
Y = 4.9 L, 300-1V 6 cyl
3 = Check digit
D = 1983
C = Ontario truck plant
A09913 = Sequence num.
Hope this clears things up for you.

Yes on the F100...no on the carb.
