3.8 oil pressure

I have a 1995 a mustang with a 3.8 v6 it has about 14000 miles.in the last year or so the oil pressure has dropped it used to run on the L ( normal) now it runs around the N the oil has always been changed every 3000 miles.also were is the oil pump located i it in the oil pan or is it in the timing cover.thanks

floydguy is starting off with a positive reputation.
the 3.8 oil pump is in the timming cover, the gears are in the cover behind the oil filter adapter, the gears also wear the inside of the aluminum cover, causing a drop in oil pressure, that was the case on my 87 t-bird.

I had to replace the timing cover a few years back so what could be causing my low oil pressure is the screen in the pan maybe it is getting stoped up.thanks
