Ford engineered along with Holley the intake to accept the carbs backwards in order to clear the distributor, it also puts the Primary carbs primaries more directly in the center of the intake to help with fuel distribution.
That picture shows the set-up with Demon carbs, but I now have original Ford Holley carbs.
I bet when you get on it you can actually see the gas gauge drop!
The gas gauge needle is a blur it moves so fast!
Actually I get between 9-10 MPG if I drive halfway normal. That isn't too bad in my mind. Before I got a diesel work truck the 5.4 triton I had could barely muster anything over 11.
Yeah its coming along. I'm dealing with a guy on a 410 but he is up in the air about getting rid of it because him and his brother have a Torino they are thinking of putting it in.
I wish my truck was as nice as any of these trucks
Well at least I got the carburetor pulled, and am working on getting my Edlebrock to work...
From Holley To Edlebrock
You guys had asked for more pictures at some point. This looks like as good a place as any. My wife and I did some serious cleaning and waxing the other day. I didn't get all the way around the chrome before it got so hot that I was ready to pass out. You'll notice the front bumper is a lot more shiny than the rest of the trim.
I need to replace that right front hubcap too. About the hubcaps, however, the truck is a 74, are these the correct hubcaps anyway? LMC Truck lists this style as a 76 hubcap.
The running boards and mudflaps are going to go away too, I just haven't got around to it yet.
