Painting the F-3............

Finally I’ve gotten off the couch and have decided to do something............

I hired a friend of a friends retired father to do most the body work and paint my truck. He’s going to do all the work in my garage for $15 hr. cash. (I know, I didn't really have to get off the couch to do that .

I'm going to "help" and he's going to be the brains/experience professional painter behind the operation.

95% sure i'm going with a base coat/clear coat very close to the original color ......(light grey)...... but i'm sure i'll be changing my mind until i actually purchase the paint.

here's some before shots to get the thread going;

As purchased,

firewall is original paint............

So i always new that the cab/front clip was too much work to fix, so i bought this F-1 with large fender opening to swap onto my chassis......

as purchased, (flatbed is still for-sale)

just starting the disassembly..........

I'll be having my F-3 painted this Spring too...also gray or silver but I'm smart enough to keep my hands out of it. The painter does restorations and painted a previous car for me so I know he's good. Good luck with it. Maybe we can compare notes when the painting has been done.

That looks like a damn nice F1. I think it would look very good in some kind of grey, but I do like grey on just about any vehicle.

It a reproduction done by NorthernClassicTruck, (has the ford script) it's never been completely assembled.
it is still forsale.............and taking up space in my garage at the same time.
here's link to an older add i posted https://www.ford-trucks.com/classifi...t/18147/cat/20 I'm taking best offers now, i have all the pieces, boards have never been installed, just set in place for the pictures.......
it measures about 6 X 7 ft. and is made to fit an F-1 perfect.
PM me any questions............

I love it when things are hung up on the wall.

I made a rack out of conduit that resembles a shower grab bar just to hold my heatgun tips.

Some have called it scary..I would have to agree
