My 1928 model A pickup project

I just thought I would post up a pic of my model a project. Here is my cab, it is 100% original steel. I tore the cab apart and got all the rust out of the seams, here is the cab back together with new wood installed. I will post up a new pic in the next day or 2, the cab is painted now and it is mounted on the chassis. The truck is hot rodded.

I built a 29 Ford Tudor sedan from the ground up in the 90s. It was a fun project. I went with a Progressive Automotive front MII crossmember with rear mounted R&P steering, a Speedway motors disc brake kit, and a Maverick 8 inch four bar rear with Spax coilovers, SBC and 700-R4 with cruise, tilt, Vintage Air, and Ron Francis wiring. I always wanted to do a Model A pickup...good luck with it

Cool! I love the Model A pickups, let us know your specs too...also, as you're posting pics it would be a good time to start a Gallery.

Great looking so far. I've just finished a 29 for my wife. It's her driver. Ours is 90% original metal. I had to buy a new set of splash aprons,a new U-channel for the bed and a new Front panel for the bed. A couple of our friends bought us a New Tailgate at SEMA. Other than that it is all restored original steel. Took me 5 1/2 years. Running a 351 Windsor with an AOD tranny.4.10 rear gears in an 8" Ford out of a Maverick Grabber. Translates to about 2.85 final drive in Overdrive. 2330 RPM @ 70MPH. Original frame, boxed and a Mustang II from a real Mustang II not aftermarket. Tubular uppers and lowers A 4 bar on the rear with coilovers. I know how much fun and head bustin you can have building yours. Best of luck and I hope to see more of it soon. Tbucket

Bah. You can get good enough results from five gallons of bondo and a six pack.

That's going to be sweet!

I have a '32 Dodge PU in close shape as your truck...and is similar with the square cab sides/etc...I'm on the fence as to chop 4 or 5 inches out of it, or run it as-is.

It is a 350/350 combo. Original boxed model A frame, 4" dropped axle 4 bar in front, pete and jakes ladder bars with coilovers in the rear. All original sheetmetal. 40 ford gennie wheels 15x5 and 15x7's, walker radiator with A/C condenser. I drove it on the trailer the other day and carried it to get the exhaust ran.

Where are you located? I snapped this pic last year at the Santa Clara Valley (Silicon Valley to the rest of the world) Model T Ford Club Endurance Run and Lowland Tour last June in San Jose. Lots of Model A's show up since it's a joint venture between the Model T & A.... Uhhh where was I??? Oh yeah Model T AND Model A clubs. They're going to run it again this June, like every year since like '66 or so.
