1965 F600 Vin F60MLxxxxx What engine size?
I have a 65 F600 with 8 cyl. The first 4 digits of VIN is F60ML. I can not figure out what size engine does it have. I though it was a Y-block 292 but the distributor is mounted in front of the carb. I read that Y-blocks were opposite Thanks for your help

1964 serial number range: 445,001 thru 580,000 / 1965: 580,001 thru 732,000
F60ML = 4th digit is the engine size = M = 330 H/D.
You can't date your truck by Ford ID numbers found on parts.
C4TE is the Ford ID number for the manifold...the same manifold was used 1964/72.

Do you have any idea what type of Holly 2bbl was used on these. I need to get a carb kit and most places can't get any data on F600s. thank you

1964/72 - Holley 2V ~ The following parts were used on all these years.
C0TZ-9A586-D .. Carburetor Tune Up Kit (Motorcraft CT-186-A)
C2TZ-9590-L .. Carburetor Major Overhaul Kit (Motorcraft CR-281)
C1TZ-9502-F .. Carburetor Gasket Set (Motorcraft CG-186)
D2HZ-9510-H .. Carburetor (Motorcraft CA-791-A).
C5TF-AS = The original 1964/65 carburetor ID number-found on a triangular shaped tag bolted on the airhorn.
NAPA and other parts stores can cross the above Motorcraft part numbers over to the brands they sell.

Awesome. Thank you very much. Now one more question. Today (thanks to you) I bought the exhaust manifold gasket. They gave me 4 pieces. Two, look like any other Exhaust gasket but two the heat-shields, I have no idea how these go. Am I installing these on top of each other? The heat-shields were totally gone on my truck so I could not see how they weres installed? I really apreciate your advice.

Picture in parts catalog shows exhaust gaskets to intake manifold, the shields mount between the gaskets and the exhaust manifold.
btw: You can buy the "1964/72 Ford Truck Parts Catalog" (on a CD) from hipoparts.com for around $25.00. Hipo also sells it on ebay.

Hello Bill. Got another questions. I got some info from old posts on the spark plugs for my 330HD. I found data on Motorcraft sp425. I bought a set and when I went to change them, the old ones were Motocraft SP3 series. What is the correct plug. It seemed the SP425 plogs were slightly longer. thanks
