Freeze Plugs
New to the site and have inherited my father-in-laws 56 pickup with a 292 out of I believe a 61. What I thought was blown head gaskets turned out to be cracked heads. I purchased two heads on ebay and had them resurfaced and when I picked them up the guy tells me I will need to install the freeze plugs. My question is there appears to be four locations where the heads bolt to the intake, are four need there are do some of these ports need to stay open. And how do I go about measuring for the plugs.

I can't help you with your question, but if you don't get an answer here, come to the 48-56 forum and ask the question there. But we will want to see pics of your truck and the history of it.
